"Phone eats first" is the saying of foodies around the globe as they snap a picture of a meal they just ordered to post on social media. You may have experienced this phenomenon yourself, or have even been the one to say this popular phrase!
Either way, you are making what you eat known, and one thing that every human has in common? EATING!
Downtown St. Pete's Beach Drive is home to a bunch of top-tier restaurants. Just as foodies post their meals, these restaurants post pictures of their delicious dishes on Instagram as well. It can be a huge help on deciding where and what you want to eat!
So today, I'll be your guide in all things restaurant Instagram (which I've decided to name restaurantagram) in DTSP. But proceed with caution, cravings may arise!
Just recently, my boyfriend and I went downtown to eat at a popular restaurant called BellaBrava. It was absolutely delicious! For my main course, I ordered the stuffed gnocchi alla vodka, which contained cheese stuffed gnocchi, vodka sauce, oven-dried tomatoes, confit mushrooms, pecorino and basil. Mouth watering yet? If that hasn't done it for you, just look at the picture they posted of it on Instagram a few days ago!
Looking to make lunch or dinner plans in St. Pete? Here are some of the restaurant Instagram handles to help you (hopefully) narrow your choices down:
@bellabrava || Check this out! They have over 6,000 followers, and almost 1,000 posts of beautiful Italian dishes. Their most recent post is a reel (yay) displaying how their crostata is made. The crostata itself contains penne, pomodoro, housemade sausage, mozzarella, roasted peppers, ricotta, sage and asiago bread crust. Yum! ($$)
@stillwaterstavern || Classic American dishes plus beer and cocktails. Their most recent post was of their Guiness Shephard's pie with mashed potato crust, and it looks AMAZING. ($$)
@cassisstpete || A bakery that specializes in American and French Fare with brunch, lunch and dinner options. Their most recent post is of a smoked salmon duo with cucumbers, capers, red onions, lemon pepper and sour cream. ($$)
@parkshore_grill || Although their pictures don't contain descriptions of the food they post, their dishes look yummy. Parkshore is a casual contemporary American restaurant specializing in steaks and seafood. They have a vast patio space if you'd prefer to sit outside. ($$)
@cevichetapas || "A spanish inspired tapas bar & restaurant." The most recent post on their Instagram was of the wine cellar, as they were just awarded the 2022 Wine Spectator "Award of Excellence." Congrats! ($$)
@birchandvine || Per the Instagram bio, "Award-winning dining in downtown St. Pete, FL @thebirchwood. Creative dishes that are flavorful and unique." It is the restaurant of The Birchwood. There's even a rooftop bar, the Birchwood Canopy. The charcuterie board looks fantastic! ($$$)
@frescoswaterfront || Beautiful doc-side location featuring global dishes. The most recent Instagram post was of the BBQ lamb sliders with carmelized onion and smashed avocado. It is served with lobster bisque and a wedge salad. ($$)
@docfords || Multiple locations other than DTSP, but a "casual destination for seafood with Caribbean and South American flavors." Their most recently posted dish was the roasted half-chicken with a cuban chimichurri; potato hash with onions, Amazon peppers and Panama-style chorizo sausage. ($$)
I hope this helped kickstart your restaurant-discovering downtown! Comment your favorite place to go and your experiences! We'd love to hear about them at the Pindrop Group.
As always, have fun, be safe and have a great weekend!
